Whether you have hours of practice under your belt or are just starting out, you are so welcome to come and practice with us at R&R. Our classes and ethos are about movement for joy over aesthetics and our teachers guide classes in an inclusive way that doesn’t require a certain level of practice to attend. Come as you are.
We always recommend turning up 5-10 minutes before your class to ensure you have enough time to come in, meet your teacher who will be waiting downstairs to greet you and check you in.
You might like to use this time to get water, speak to your teacher if you are new, discuss any injuries you may have and use the rest room.
Our studio upstairs is a no shoe area, so we kindly ask that you take off shoes before heading upstairs. You can leave all other belongings (including phones) on the benches provided downstairs. Phones should be switched off / set to do not disturb or put on silent during class to preserve peace for all during practice and do not worry, the main doors will be locked so all your belongings will be completely safe.
We ensure to begin and end classes on time respectively.
At the end of class, we ask you wipe down your mat with the spray bottles provided, roll up and pop your mat and any other props away. If you have any questions for your teacher after class we’d be happy to chat with you.
We provide all the props you may need for your practices, including mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, ankle wights etc however you are more than welcome to use your own mat if you prefer.
Depending on the type of class you are attending at R&R (and the time of the year) clothing choices might vary.
Generally, for slower more restorative practices like Yin/Restorative we recommend wearing more layers, warmer clothing that you can add on as the body temperature drops during more restful classes.
For movement practices like yoga, barre and pilates, wearing anything you can move and feel good in is a must + a water bottle is always a good idea.
Weather can play a major role in what we choose to wear so if its a 35 degree day, ensure you dress appropriately and same for the -1 days, ensure lots of layers. Great news is we do have a heated floor for those colder days.
At R&R we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within this window, it will be considered a late cancellation and your class credit will be deducted.
We understand that sometimes you just can’t make class, all we ask if that you please cancel your spot so someone from the waitlist may use it. Even if it’s a minute or so before the class it’s helpful to cancel so our teacher can be made aware.
If you do not cancel at all, we charge a no-show fee of £5.00.
We fully understand that things come up and lateness if sometimes unavoidable, but if you arrive after the class start time you will be unable to practice. Our aim is to preserve peace for all students during practice so we encourage you to show 5-10 mins early for class. Our classes begin on time and the downstairs doors are locked just before class.
