Our Home
42 Acres
42 Acres is a place to retreat, restore and reconnect. The land here has been allowed to rewild and this can be felt viscerally by all who visit.
We will be staying across The Farmhouse, The Rettig, Swallow’s Nest, and Deer Cottage. Each space reflects elegant simplicity in the heart of nature and has been consciously restored using sustainable, local, natural materials and powered 100% by renewable energy. The result is peaceful, nurturing sanctuaries.
The Farmhouse is surrounded by beautifully-kept ornamental gardens, many of the plants in which are edible. These gardens merge into rewilded meadows which in turn give way to the Mendip hills on the horizon – giving beautiful, far-reaching views.
Inside there is a large open plan, double-aspect kitchen / dining room where we will eat each meal together over the weekend. There’s plenty of warmth and cosy spaces within our cottages too with open fires, log burners, soft furnishings and perfect nooks for curling up with a book and a cuppa.
Every space at 42 Acres gives a sense of reconnection to the nature surrounding it. It is peaceful and calming place to stay and we cannot wait to share our weekend with you here.
The Experience
The Weekend
Retreat mornings at 42 Acres begin gently with hot coffee, a moment nature and quietly making our way to the Mongolian Yurt for morning practice.
The day times are purposefully spacious, so you have time to explore the rewilded estate, swim in the 7-acre lake, connect with the group, hang in the woodland sauna, or spend time in solitude.
We wind down the days with a late afternoon restorative practice – think steady breaths, bolster slopes & cocooning in blankets.

The Food
The food at 42 Acres is simple, hyper-local and nutrient dense. We will be looked after by the in-house retreat chefs who will create us a bespoke vegetarian menu that evolves daily as they creatively include each gift the land offers.
Ingredients that are grown or foraged on the land of 42 Acres is put at centre stage, and they aim to source 80% of produce, year-round from within 42 miles. This 42-mile vision is rooted in the belief that a local food system is better for people and the planet (less packaging, reduced footprint, fresher, more seasonal produce, and better relationships with our community).
42 Acres use permaculture principles across their farms and gardens. All of the food is 100% certified organic, or sourced from trusted producers who are pesticide-free and organic in principle.
This really is soil-to-gut eating at it’s finest and we cannot wait to dine together with you here.
